Sale and After-Sale Care

I want you to be happy with your new chicks and to give them the best possible start in their new home.

All chicks offered for sale are considered healthy and suitable for sale at the time they leave my care.

Before collecting your chicks, please ensure you have suitable housing prepared, including appropriate warmth, clean bedding, fresh water and age-appropriate feed.

When purchasing chicks:

  • Please inspect your chicks at the time of collection and raise any concerns with me before leaving.
  • Unless specifically advertised and sold as sexed, chicks are sold unsexed and I cannot guarantee whether an individual chick will mature into a hen or rooster.
  • Colours, markings and other characteristics may change considerably as chicks mature.
  • While chicks are bred from my established breeding pens, I cannot guarantee that every bird will develop into a perfect example of its breed or colour variety.
  • Once chicks leave my care, their housing, feeding, biosecurity, health and general welfare become the responsibility of the purchaser.

After-Sale Support

I’m always happy to answer reasonable questions about the care of chicks purchased from me.

If you have concerns about a chick shortly after collection, please contact me as soon as possible, rather than waiting several days.

Where possible, please provide photographs or video and details of the chick’s housing, temperature, feed, water and symptoms so I can better understand what may be happening.

Advice provided after sale is based on my experience breeding and raising poultry and is not a substitute for veterinary advice. If a chick is seriously unwell or injured, veterinary care should be sought where appropriate.
